The Mayor Threatened To Sue Me For Defamation

Journalism, and I'm actually kind of drunk now.
The mayor threatened to sue me today for an article that's being published in tomorrow's newspaper.
I caught him in a lie, effectively proving collusion for a resolution that would have appointed his lackey to a council seat. Another councillor provided me with the "smoking gun" that confirmed he made a back-room deal with two other councillors.
I have the proof, and his defamation charge will fail, but still, he made some kind of bluff.
I just needed to vent. I hate to be threatened. Made me want to write the article more.

I love being threatened by public officials. It always makes me feel like I'm doing something right. (Unless they're threatening me because I'm screwing their wives or puking on their lawns at 3 in the morning. But that's usually not true.)
