what's the gen on the actual anthrax these days? does anyone have a clue? in the UK it's mostly now taken as read — in the papers and on "the street" — that it WASN'T ObL-related: but the new york review of books had a big piece on how al quaeda WERE making chemical weapons in that hospital bill clinton bombed, so is the US routine assumption still that it IS ObL-related?

The last I saw was that the FBI was assuming that it was a 'home- grown' terrorist or terrorists that committed these acts. We're not seeing all that much in the media at all . I think a lot of Americans don't even know this, though.

For the non-Americans here, the reason Carly Simon is bugging me is that a song of hers (from 'Working Girl') is being used in a postal service ad. For a while, I couldn't turn on the tv without hearing it. Thanks to George Harrison, I haven't heard it today, but if I do, I'll start screaming again, because it sticks in your head in a most unwelcome fashion, especially when I'm at work and have nothing at my disposal to block it out.

I really hate her for ridiculous reasons - because of living on Martha's Vineyard.
But...the last time (or one of the last times) I visited The vineyard I was in line for the ferry, and it was raining, so everyone was huddled under this very small awning and big mouth Carly Simon comes up with her entourage and she's like six feet tall and all teeth and she actually, actually busted out; "I haven't got time for the rain! No I haven't got time for the rain!" and all of her courtiers laughed and kissed her feet and I hated her even more.
