Paintball, Quad Biking, Murder Mystery Weekend

Personally I haven't taken part in any of the above 'activities', group things turn me off.

Are they as fun as they promise? I'd say out of the three that quad biking appeals the most, I'd maybe consider it at a push.

quad biking/atving/whatever you wanna call it is FUN FUN FUN. i almost killed myself a half dozen times the one time i did it. i feel sorta bad about doing it, but it's not like i'm constantly seeking out pristine environments to trapse across.

i've never been paintballing or murder myster weekending BUT we used to have a four wheeler when i was a little tacker and it was pretty awesome fun.

also i once drove my cousins' four wheeler into a creek on their farm as i got mixed up about throttle/brake in a spot where it was almost impossible to tow out. oops. i wasn't too popular around those parts for a while.

Yeah, quad biking looks pretty dangerous if Ozzy and thon guy out of Bottom are anything to go by.

I'd love to speak to someone who's done a murder mystery weekend, and I'd like to know if paintballing is painful.

we used to drive our four wheeler along the beach primarily, that was more fun than on the farm i thought, and also i think probably a bit safer - less trees to drive into. i'm making an assumption here that quad bikes and four wheelers are the same thing.

Paintball is a blast, but you have to 1) be interested in and have a knack for strategy (rather than just wanting to run around shooting, in which case you'll be out super quick) and 2) be using good equipment. Don't go out with crappy goggles that fog up, or outdated or tired paintball guns cuz then it's no fun.

Quad bike = 4 wheeler

Paintballing is fun but Aaron OTM and, yes, it is painful - I had big circular bruises for days after. They'll presumably supply overalls but make sure you have plenty of layers on underneath.

It depends on where you're paintballing -- in a forest in teams is the best, as there's more stealth involved, the game lasts longer, and you have to use your eyes and ears. Getting bruises are less likely in that situation than they are in an open field with just a few obstacles in the way. Last time I played I got pegged on the inner thigh, and it created a huge sprawling black and blue mark that had all the colors of a supernova.

Paintballing is great - it's genuinely terrifying at first, but the adrenaline high lasts all day and after you've been shot a couple of times it just becomes an inconvenience.

(NB don't walk 10 yards in front of a pissed off stag with a paintball gun half full of pellets)

Paintballing is great and terrifying, yes. ANd being shot IS just an inconveniance, until you wake up next day. The worst bit about paintballing is when you get shot and the ball doesn't explode. It feels like someone's chucking marbles at you, and it hurts like hell.
