Does anybody know what to do when I can't get my oven to heat up, even though the pilots on the stove are on?

Is there such a thing as an oven pilot? What should I do? Buy a canary? Mods, please delete this thread when I get an answer or when my house explodes.

Of course there is an oven pilot light, way back there probably, but be careful.

OK so hang on, can you hear the gas hissing but it isnt hot? For the love of god, turn the oven dial off!

If you cant even see/smell gas then maybe it is broken? Tried lighting it with a match?

If it is an electric oven, I will point and laugh at you ;)

Right, here I am with an answer.

Basically, it sounds like your "Flame Failure Device" is knackered. Your options are 1) get it replaced (£90 or thereabouts, prob more) 2) get a new oven. 3) check your warranty.

This happened to me. I opted for 1) as it was an expensive oven.
