Sterling Franklin Wolk was born Monday afternoon around 4:25. 8 pounds, 9 ounces, UTTERLY GORGEOUS. Currently sleeping fitfully about eight inches away. Mama and baby both doing great. Picture at http://www.lacunae.com/archives/000347.html .

congrats douglas! the sleep things gets better after a week or so, and i think it isn't as bad as some say. mine is now 4 weeks old and i have had only a few moments of insanity due to lack of sleep. oh, we got the same hat when she was born! it must be a favorite at hospitals!

also i must add that you should be sure to be extra attentive to mama's needs right now-not that you don't already know that. but just bringing her a glass of water during the wee hour feeding feels like getting a million dollars. and not getting one feels like a fist in the face!
