What covers your windows? Blinds, curtains, drapes, valances? What color, pattern, fabric?

I have a cherry red bed spread with pink pillowcases patterned with red/aqua/orange/&yellow hearts. What type of window treatment do you recommend? I'm thinking something in either a deep red or deep blue.

Currently: white blind with tassles and lace white demi curtains. If I get new curtains/drapes, will i have to install a new rod to hang them from?

Oh god, tatty IKEA off-white cheapo curtains, mostly. Sarah is always on at me to get blinds for the kitchen.

My windows have two fuzzy green blankets draped over the curtain rod and held in place with safety pins and crumpled up paper. They're awesome.

My aesthetics please you not, N-ster? My mom offered to make me curtains from the sheet that matches my heart-patterned pillowcases, but after careful consulation we determined that that might be too "cutesy." I really want red curtains that skim the floor.

6 pages from a 2004 calendar are taped on the window. a 2004 calendar of french cat posters is hanging from the lever for the lock. a few months ago, i bought fringed toffee colored wool curtains with a scrolling vine pattern, but i don't have a rod yet. for now, the bathroom windows are covered with christmas wrapping paper. i'll have to take care of this soon because it's getting warmer, so by the end of the month, i'll need to open the windows. anthropologie has pretty curtains that you might like, mary.
