Is there anything good about this place?

California?

They have a gigantic fucking outlet mall and an in-n-out. Also located next to glorious Oxnard, CA*

there used to be a big old mental hospital there. so you'd find out about some old relative who no one really talked about much 'ended up at camarillo'.

Its actually a Cal State now. CSCI. Its one of the many speculations about wtf 'Hotel California' is about.

Lots of Oxnard love on this thread:

Named-checked in at least two songs, Steely Dan's "Mr. Parker's Band" ("...relaxin' at Camarillo") in and Zappa's "Camarillo Brillo."

The Cramps and other punk bands used to play at the mental hospital, which I never understood (why the management would let them, I mean).

But pretty dud except for its proximity to the beach and the aforementioned Oxnard/Hueneme megalopolis.

I think Parker did check himself in. Also comedian Jonathon Winters was known to spend time there "relaxin'."

I prefer ventura!

Gear! (can Jung shill it, Mu?) (Gear!), Friday, 18 March 2005 21:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Ventura's okay. The "head" of the Hell's Angels lives in Camarillo at the Spanish Hills Country Club.

Most of the girls in Ventura county are cute except for Oxnard. As teenagers it took us about 4 years to finally figure this shit out.

Speaking of bikers, some dipshit in Camarillo got arrested for selling speed and steroids off of a website he maintained from his computer AT WORK and he worked FOR THE GOVERNMENT.
