Remaster it all in 3-D. I have my doubts that the world is crying for a 3-D representation of the farting beast in The Phantom Menace but okay.

(Jackson and Rodriguez and Zemeckis and Cameron are all in on this with their projects as well = HMM.)

"It's not just the use of digital projection, which we all know is on the horizon," Jackson said. "But that the particular technology can be used to create three-dimensional movies that go far beyond the quality and the spectacle of anything we've ever seen before. Forget the old days of wearing the red and blue glasses and the eyestrain. All of that is behind us now. These new active glasses that you're wearing and seeing 3-D with are a breakthrough in technology."

He is expressing the relief of grateful billions. So, just a cure for cancer now and the human race is set.

the last spykids flick was in 3-D wasn't it?

j blount (papa la bas), Saturday, 19 March 2005 02:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Why do I have this horrible feeling that Lucas will keep fucking with the Star Wars movies until the day he dies?

Tantrum (Tantrum The Cat), Saturday, 19 March 2005 02:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Lucas needs to be restrained. Preferably forcibly, with lots of unnecessary roughness.

29 Year old detour my ass.

Jimmy Mod Has Returned With Spices And Silks (ModJ), Saturday, 19 March 2005 02:37 (twenty-one years ago)

George Lucas is doing to his films what Michael Jackson has done to his face.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 19 March 2005 02:59 (twenty-one years ago)

they should make a space buddy cop movie starring francis' gut and george's neck

Randall Kleiser is presumably there because, apart from Grease and Flight of the Navigator (and Honey I Blew Up The Kid!) he directed Honey I Shrunk The Audience, the 3-D ride at Walt Disney World. Rodriquez is there because Spy Kids 3-D made 36 out of it's 39 million back in it's first week. Though obviously anything that connect him with these other bunch of fuckers is not a good thing.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Saturday, 19 March 2005 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Rodriquez is there because Spy Kids 3-D made 36 out of it's 39 million back in it's first week.

He's a canny fucker, he is -- I've read a few articles about how he increasingly established his own private studio/family operation/one-man-does-everything-because-it's-possible setup down there in Texas, making films on the relative cheap that spin profits as you note.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 March 2005 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i am totally in awe of rodriguez's system. i really really admire him and kind of see what he does as a model; it's super-inspiring.

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 19 March 2005 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

his enthusiasm is more fun than his movies to me

jones (actual), Saturday, 19 March 2005 20:30 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, in a way i agree

s1ocki (slutsky), Saturday, 19 March 2005 20:31 (twenty-one years ago)

the dvd docu extras on "Once upon a time" are hella cool

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Saturday, 19 March 2005 20:32 (twenty-one years ago)

you know, if lucas gets much crazier i may come back around to liking him again!

jones (actual), Saturday, 19 March 2005 20:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought this was going to be a "Kids-Say-the-Darndest-Things"-stylee thread about Nickalicious's son.

dammit, Ned, you just made me buy a ticket

miccio (miccio), Saturday, 19 March 2005 20:40 (twenty-one years ago)

To Canada?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Saturday, 19 March 2005 22:51 (twenty-one years ago)

TO HELL.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 March 2005 23:10 (twenty-one years ago)

You are all kneejerk mentalists. This will be aweseome for the end of the first film alone.

(Disclaimer, I have never seen a 3D film)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 19 March 2005 23:43 (twenty-one years ago)

3d is so old hat.

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Sunday, 20 March 2005 06:11 (twenty-one years ago)

but dude... didn't you see that Peter Jackson quote near the top? NEW 3D, NOT OLD 3D.

Ian John50n (orion), Sunday, 20 March 2005 06:16 (twenty-one years ago)

WELL MY BAD

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Sunday, 20 March 2005 06:23 (twenty-one years ago)

but what about star wars smellorama?

Amateur(ist) (Amateur(ist)), Sunday, 20 March 2005 06:23 (twenty-one years ago)

it's crazy how all these big directors are embracing nu-3D. it's such a dud. 3d has never been really sucessful and i don't think it ever will be. these jerks are wasting their money

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 20 March 2005 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

how is it dud? its neat-o! how dare you question the creators of titanic, ewoks, jar-jar and the frighteners!

latebloomer: damn cheapskate satanists (latebloomer), Sunday, 20 March 2005 18:24 (twenty-one years ago)

'the farting beast' sounds like Mastodon album title!

latebloomer: damn cheapskate satanists (latebloomer), Sunday, 20 March 2005 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i just don't think it's going to take off the way j cameron & g lucas thinks it will!

s1ocki (slutsky), Sunday, 20 March 2005 18:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know, I saw the neo-3D on Cameron's "Aliens of the Deep" and it was pretty damned cool. I'd never had a good 3d experience before that.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Sunday, 20 March 2005 18:30 (twenty-one years ago)

that terminator 3-d thing at universal studios was hella cheesy but the 3-d was impressive.

latebloomer: damn cheapskate satanists (latebloomer), Sunday, 20 March 2005 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

to keep the Star Wars series rolling

He also appears to keep his hair rolling...or rolling his hair.

EComplex (EComplex), Sunday, 20 March 2005 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

3d is always cool! whether people would want to see titanic in 3d though is another story
