Workplace mass-emails

last week it was Make-Your-Own-Cheesecake Day here at work. It was a lot of fun eating it while "chilling" to some Jimmy Buffett tunes.

today i get this in my mail, addressed to the thousands of people in this division of the company. They guy's quitting, and this is what he writes:

"...I hope that all of the good hard working, committed and passionate people that I have met and worked with over the past 6 years reap the rewards for their efforts and the others pull their finger out to help make a difference so that the company can grow."

I want more examples of burning bridges.

Oh - I wish I could find the email some guy sent awhile back .. All I can remember is that he loved working with everyone and hoped to come back and work with us all again sometime, but he never understood anything of what we do and thought that much of it was a big waste of time .. followed by "no offense, please."

Don't these people realise that you're supposed to go out and get drunk with everybody the day you leave and THEN announce this stuff (possibly just before/after trying to shag the boss)? Email is so tame!

the best are the ones where some idiot replies to the global mail but clicks on 'all recipients', but then other people start doing the same to reply to him, and then an even bigger idiot replies to all recipients saying 'please could you not reply to all recipients as i have a lot of work to do blah blah blah'

This is a deadly lame practice. Anyonw who emails the whole company upon leaving is obviously someone who was not well-liked anyway. The last minute, chickenshit snark just makes you look like an ass. So long, farewell, fuck you very much, see ya around, and when I do, I'll remember what a tool you are.
