I can only think of Some Kind of Wonderful, but if the market has not produced at least a dozen films with an identical storyline it is surely missing out?

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh for fuck's sake, give it a fucking rest, will you?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

munty

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

When was the last time you gave someone a high-five and what was it for?

VIC MACKEY (nordicskilla), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh come on Norm, don't you think these threads are kinda fun?

By the way - Bachelor's Party is on Channel Five this week. Catch it and give me your feedback please!

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 17:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Lea Thompson!!?? I wouldn't fuck her with your dick, 'Zarr'.

M. White (Miguelito), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

No.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh why not? You might really like it. It's better than Warner Herzog! Really!!

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

32 Short Threads about Calum Robert Waddell

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

i dont understand the thread title.

bass braille (....), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

"werner," mr film buff.

f--gg (gcannon), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Care for a munt? They're munty fresh!

M. White (Miguelito), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, Mary Stuart Masterson is way hotter than Lea Thompson in that movie.

I got the job because I was so mean, while somehow appearing so kind. (AaronHz), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm still traumatized by Caroline in the City so I don't understand the question, and I won't respond to it.

Leon the Fatboy (Ex Leon), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Yah, but Warner is much cooler innit? I prefer that.

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 17:47 (twenty-one years ago)

No.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I love girls who are munty and look like boys. Love 'em.

sunburned and snowblind (kenan), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I could've interviewed ol' Warner last year but I couldn't find the time sadly. It might have been a laff.

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

real maver and sheker aren't you.

f--gg (gcannon), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Unless you're talking about David Warner no one wants to know.

Leon Bluth (Ex Leon), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:52 (twenty-one years ago)

You should have. He's a pretty fucking wild individual. Who did you interview instead?

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

The guy who plays "pinhead" in "hellraiser"?

Cash Flagg (Pashmina), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, I'm being horrible because I'm in a really, really shit mood.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:54 (twenty-one years ago)

You know I cannot recall - he was in town really briefly I think and I got told at the last minute. He was promoting his Loch Ness film and I missed the press screening so it was kinda a bit pointless doing an interview - I really, REALLY like to research the person's latest work before committing and I wouldn't have been doing him justice. I'm going to pick up Herzog's box set actually - I saw it in a sale recently - when I have more spare cash. You have, at the least, got me curious about the films of his I have yet to check out.

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

P.S. xxpost - Cash, you FUCKING MADE MY DAY with that comment, but I can't go into any more detail. Just trust me - thanks for that.

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

SKOW was an instant gender-flip remake of Pretty in Pink. It's an improvement since Eric Stoltz is a much hotter redhead than Molly Ringwald, and the Jon Cryer character in PIP isn't remotely plausible as straight.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

IS "MUNTY" BRITISH FOR SOMETHING????????????????????????????????

ralph malpha motherfucker, Monday, 21 March 2005 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Eric Stoltz is one of the most pathetic human beings to ever appear on the silver screen.

Leon Bluth (Ex Leon), Monday, 21 March 2005 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

You're dissin' on my biggest crush ever! In middle school, I used to carry around folders with his pictures and interviews in it EVERYWHERE. I always had his name written all over my hands.

...I don't get it either. Weirdest crush evah.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:01 (twenty-one years ago)

What Aaron said. MSM is way hotter than Lea Thompson in this film. Also, Lea Thompson wears weird outfits like weird pleated shorts with fringed cowboy boots. That's just wrong.

jill schoelen is the queen of my dreams! (Homosexual II), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Some Kind of Wonderful is a great movie. Hughes really had it down to a science with it. The soundtrack is amazing of course.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Eric has on the most hideous fake tan throughout the whole movie, especially visible when he has an argument with his dad while shirtless. He has a bronzed neck and then a LILY WHITE CHEST.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:06 (twenty-one years ago)

That's because he works on cars all day long and can't afford to go to the beach and get an all over tan like the kids on the other side of the tracks. (or maybe not!)

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Lea Thompson is so hot. She gets nekkid in All the Right Moves.

Biggest problem with Pretty in Pink is Molly Ringwald who just IS NOT sexy. Arggghh! A fine actress and all, but even as a kid seeing these movies I never believed anyone would be going ga-ga for her. Lea Thompson, on the other hand, always drove me nuts.

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 18:14 (twenty-one years ago)

"a fine actress"

haha dude see one real movie.

The problem with Molly Ringwald is that, hot or not, she has a rather irritating screen presence and a deadly limited acting range.

sunburned and snowblind (kenan), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

"See one real movie" - HA!

Anyway - Ringwald is a fine actress, she was never Katherine Hepburn but she made her roles believeable and, you know, I think she was really good in "The Stand", which was a pretty epic project to take on.

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know Mel, something about him has always frightened and disturbed me, and I'm not sure why. It's not like he's ugly or horrible or anything like that, there's just something about him that seems sickening and creepy. He's the acting equivalent of latter day Bryan Adams.

Leon Bluth (Ex Leon), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I do like "Sixteen Candles," I cannot tell a lie.

sunburned and snowblind (kenan), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Leon - from your description are you sure you are not mixing Stoltz up with David Spader?

Zarr, Monday, 21 March 2005 18:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought Stoltz was quite good in 'The House of Mirth'.

M. White (Miguelito), Monday, 21 March 2005 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I still haven't gotten a clear idea of what "munty" is.

sunburned and snowblind (kenan), Monday, 21 March 2005 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Leon - from your description are you sure you are not mixing Stoltz up with David Spader?

David Spade? James Spader? David Paymer?

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 21 March 2005 19:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Noooo, it's Stoltz. Everything about him is just creepy and off-putting. Much like this thread.

Leon Bluth (Ex Leon), Monday, 21 March 2005 19:13 (twenty-one years ago)

>creepy and off-putting

You'da loved his perf as a teen-chasing English teacher in the TV series "Once and Again," then!

Seriously, you're nuts. The guy has been regularly employed by indie directors in the last dozen years cuz he can actually SPEAK. He has a great monologue in "Kicking and Screaming" as a bartender on his temporary underachieving life becoming His Life.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 21 March 2005 19:58 (twenty-one years ago)

'creepy/offputting' and 'articulate/employed' aren't mutually exclusive traits Dr. Morbius.

haha stoltz and david caruso should do a buddy picture.

jones (actual), Monday, 21 March 2005 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

"See one real movie" - HA!

that is so cute.

bass braille (....), Monday, 21 March 2005 20:12 (twenty-one years ago)
