Why'd you give it up?

Kept getting the skin flayed off my back when crashing into coral reefs.

Not only do I not want to answer this question, I don't want to answer any question about watersports ever again.

The Passion Of The Ned

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 21 March 2005 20:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Hm. I'd have a happy ending.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 21 March 2005 20:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Watersports, Happy Ending, Passion .. sounds like a great movie.

Last time I did it, I got a saltwater enema. I skidded on my butt. I was about 10 and horribly embarrassed and shocked by what had happened. I don't think anyone else knew. Never did it again.

Guess I don't know that kid whose parents had a speedboat anymore.

Silky Sensor (sexyDancer), Monday, 21 March 2005 21:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Maria, I'm told that's called a "water burger."

I fell out of touch with my friend who had a ski boat. The same one who had a regulation snooker table. (Why do I always dump the rich friends?!) I've enjoyed skiing all four times I've been.

I got pretty good when I was like 14. But now I suck.

I tried it a couple years ago and ended up drinking a few gallons of Clear Lake's (Calif.) brackish swill.. despite the close proximity to Calistoga, this is NOT the water you want to pass your lips (or buttcheeks)...

andy --, Monday, 21 March 2005 21:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Is there some sort of rule that lakes with evocative, antiseptic names like "Clear Lake" inevitably have to be green and stinky?

Daniel Cohen (dayan), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Because waterboarding's where it's at. Gnarly!

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 17:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Like there I was, out on the water, but inside it didn't make a difference. I was still the same.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 17:30 (twenty-one years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I have NEVER had bruises like the bruises I got learning to waterski. I looked like an elephant had slipped and fallen onto my lap.

Madchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 20:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I stopped going to summer camp when I was 14.
