this may be only familiar to New Yorkers but a friend of mine from NYC gave me a couple issues of this free editorial 'zine printed on newsprint called "Three Weeks." the articles are very well-written and entertaining, and I was shocked that someone was providing something this good for free.

last I heard, Three Weeks is no more and there was a ltd. edition book compiling all of the issues. I can't find any other info about it, except this article:

also the editor, Henry William Brownejohns, went on to write for the Philadelphia Independent:

Three Weeks has a current circulation of 1000 copies. Asked how it’s circulated, Swartwout replies, "Bicycle." You may see small piles of it in various bookstores and coffee shops around Manhattan and Brooklyn, including St. Mark’s Books, Kim’s, Spoonbill’s in Williamsburg, the Community Bookstore in Park Slope.

hmm, with a circulation that small, chances are that no one here knows what i'm talking about.

one year passes...
Its rare to find others who remember this magazine so Im excited to have found this post. I set up a website about Henry William Brownejohns which is the only one I know about. www.brownejohns.org
Its got all the writing from "Three Weeks" and everything else I could find. I you've got more/other stuff please send it my way. I'm trying to make a complete collection of all Brownejohn's work. I see this is a pretty old post but maybe you're still out there. Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is a NY thing but its so good. More people should read it I think.
