Things you can remember you used ilx/ilm to check up on, just to make sure you weren't alone...

A humbling thread, I guess.
I checked that others had worried about the size and cataloguing of their CD collection, did lots of exercise (without feeling like an athlete), had made fun of vegetarians, had tried antidepressants, had successfully attended a FAP, oir had ever successfully argued with Ned (I made a poor attempt at it, once).

i successfully argued with ned about mexican food!

Blossom in Paris (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Except I'm still right. Oh wait.

Paul, what did we argue about anyway?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:16 (twenty-one years ago)

He said Lord of the Rings was crap, and you were like, "no way, dude."

Masked Gazza, Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel like I have argued with Ned a lot. Or just made fun of him with some good-natured ribbing.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:26 (twenty-one years ago)

heh, yeah, Gazza has as asoutnding memory (or a fast search function). Ned, I remember we got off on the wrong foot cos I was also in a period of (for the sake of being contrarian), trying to argue that there was a case for the invasion of Iraq. Erm, you (and billions of others) were right. I've eaten humble pie!
(But I'm glad we agree on Placebo)

I don't remember that at all! I remember Casuistry's wanton abuse though. *SOBS*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I argue with Ned all the time!

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:30 (twenty-one years ago)

It is a form of love.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Erm, put it down to false memory syndrome then. (And to return to the topic, do you ever check either ilx or ilm to see if others have similar experiences? Or are you all more secure than that?)

paulhw (paulhw), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Well I check to see if anyone has started threads on restaurants or record stores in places which I am likely to visit. In fact that happens all the time.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:38 (twenty-one years ago)

i often check ilm to see what musics i am missing.

i'm still waiting for ned's rough guide to shoegaze, though. (some other folks tried it, but i'm not sure i trust them as much.)

mookieproof (mookieproof), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:40 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread is turning into one about me! (Not that I mind.)

To answer the question...I don't think so? Not in the 'am I alone?' sense, though often I've started threads while thinking about something and wondering what others might think, or what similar experiences they've had.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:43 (twenty-one years ago)

c'mon Ned, hook a brother up:

The Rough Guide to . . .

The Rough Guide to . . .

mookieproof (mookieproof), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Later! Brain hurts. Need to clean up my place.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 03:51 (twenty-one years ago)
