sometimes I love old video games, how simple they are, and until katamari damacy I was afraid that we'd gotten a lot of technical advances but no new & wonderful ideas. The technical advances weren't even making the old ideas much better. nb I only just got a playstation 2 for christmas so I'm not the best person to be evaluating games. Anyway it seems like all the advances are coming in the FPS games, maybe the sports games too, but those interest me less than FPS.
Oh but also anyway a lot of the old video games were such shit, I just got one of those playstation 2 'arcade classics' things because I thought Defender! Gauntlet! and it also had a lot of incredibly shitty games like 'Bubbles' (not Bubble Bobble to my utter and complete disappointment) and 'Root Beer Tapper.' Root beer tapper, whf?

Electronics Boutique, IME, has the more geeky staff.
Of course, when I want to know about video games, I talk to you people, or just go to the news on 1up/Gamespot.
Escapist magazine, by the way, is great.

maybe, but around here they all pimp the Xbox so hard it just surgically removes the desire to buy anything from 'em. Me, to self: shut up gamer dude, I didn't ask for your opinion of my system's strengths and weaknesses, I asked where the fucking Manhunt game be at
