Okay, this is very short notice, but: it is a gorgeous weekend, and what better way to spend a lazy bank holiday afternoon than at the Swimmer with beer and (possibly) cake?

I'm leaving for Japan on Wednesday: it'd be good to get a chance to say goodbye. and stuff.

lundy fastnet irish sea (cis), Saturday, 26 March 2005 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

i will come swimming!

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 26 March 2005 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

A fine plan. Especially if cake is involved.

RickyT (RickyT), Saturday, 26 March 2005 11:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I will come! Cis, you must text me with the details - am going home today, might be there til Monday.

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 26 March 2005 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

we shall pop down too :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Saturday, 26 March 2005 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Why not?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 26 March 2005 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not sure what kind of time - they're not opening until five, so maybe five-thirty, six-ish? was thinking more afternoon than evening, though isn't the pub quiz on Mondays?

lundy fastnet irish sea (cis), Saturday, 26 March 2005 12:39 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd go for ten to five, bainging on the doors ;)

hmm, quizzes (in general) have a habit of not happening on bank holidays, however it could make the perfect end to the weekend.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Saturday, 26 March 2005 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe. We are planning on going on a very long walk tomorrow (rated 9 on the difficulty scale) so I don't know what kind of shape I shall be in!

Masonic Cathedral (kate), Saturday, 26 March 2005 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

youll be right by my house

i will be, or, in fact, i already am, 3400 miles away

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 26 March 2005 13:32 (twenty-one years ago)

9 on my walking difficulty scale = two stops on a bus.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 26 March 2005 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Would anyone like to come bowling before fapping?

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Saturday, 26 March 2005 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 26 March 2005 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I am backing Carsmile on the early doors.

RickyT (RickyT), Saturday, 26 March 2005 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 26 March 2005 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

marianna lcl (marianna lcl), Saturday, 26 March 2005 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

yes to bowlingn, yes to swimming

Sven Bastard (blueski), Sunday, 27 March 2005 00:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Revive! I'm not sure I am up to bowling - nearly two hours of tennis yesterday, my first exercise other than bowling in about six months, has left me with some aches and pains in my arm. I'll be at the FAP, though.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 28 March 2005 08:54 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Monday, 28 March 2005 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I've just realised I've completely forgotten how I got there the last time I went - I have this awful feeling I was working, so getting there would have been easier, and this time I can't afford to take anything other than the bus. I can get to Holborn, Victoria, Waterloo, Baker Street, Elephant wihtout much hassle. I think. Any ideas?

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 28 March 2005 11:03 (twenty-one years ago)

91 from Holborn. It goes right past the end of Ebert Street.

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 28 March 2005 11:08 (twenty-one years ago)

That is: get off at the stop after it crosses Holloway Road.

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 28 March 2005 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Won't be bowling, too much boring packingy stuff to do: we still on for early doors-ish?

lundy fastnet irish sea (cis), Monday, 28 March 2005 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep.

RickyT (RickyT), Monday, 28 March 2005 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

yup. i am working on TOP SECRET (stupid) project for releasing on blog 7 before the end of the day (if anyone can think of tv shows with animals in it would be appreciated)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 28 March 2005 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

what fun this was!

also, Superpitcher Stole My Scarf team members, we totally rock. I still can't believe we WON!

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 07:52 (twenty-one years ago)

have a gd trip, cis!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

we almost won TWICE! we only lost out on the 2nd quiz on the tie-breaker. we totally thought we were the underdogs throughout both quizzes but came up trumps. (is that the right expression?)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 09:19 (twenty-one years ago)

they did the quiz after all? argh, that will teach us to leave early

Sven Bastard (blueski), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 10:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh heh, I won £125 in a quiz somewhere else that night. LOADSAMUNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAYYY!

Bad Day At Dadrock (Dada), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

wow has ilx basically been cleaning out all of london's pub quizzes?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Pub quizzes are hopefully financing my summer hols this year

Bad Day At Dadrock (Dada), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

were you playing on your own? or was the overall prize bigger?

Sven Bastard (blueski), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Two of us in the team - overall prize was £125. We won £130 the last time we were there. Everybody hates us in the pub.

Bad Day At Dadrock (Dada), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:30 (twenty-one years ago)

and now you start taking their quiz monies as well!!!

ho ho ho

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh heh, people actually boo us when we win! Jokingly, of course........... I think!

Bad Day At Dadrock (Dada), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

if you change your last name to "boo" you can pretend they're chanting your name.

i'm changing mine to "humourless wanker"

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

because there's nothing funny about jackson five knuckle shuffles (another delightful pub quiz name from last night)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

"Five Knuckle Shuffle" being a famously unlistenable (even by their standards) Throbbing Gristle song of course!

Bad Day At Dadrock (Dada), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Was it Rick or WBS who was MVQ? (They beat the rubbish team of me, Carsmile, Martin, Matt DC and Sarah twice - bah).

Pete (Pete), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks, Julio!

I still do not believe we won. That's just Not Natural.

Was lovely to see all of youse - have a good, er, next three and a half months.

lundy fastnet irish sea (cis), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 17:37 (twenty-one years ago)

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 18:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Hiya Cis, sorry I couldn't make this but I was ill as a dog anyway. Thanks so much for being so great at Poptimism and have a great time in the Japan.

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 18:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm so sad I couldn't come to this! I'm going to miss Cis.
