What Should I Do Today?

Saturday morning - had no sleep thanks to going to bed too early and so tossed and turned and grumbled all night. (Could also have been affected by butter- and cream-laden meal from last night.)

Alarm went off at 7:30 and I rose, showered, and prepared for a quick trip to Las Vegas to pick-up a couple of owner-surrendered hedgehogs. Was on my way out the door when the cell phone rang: owner decided to give said hedgehogs to cousin, instead (after a month of scheduling and rescheduling the pick-up). GRRRR.

Now I don't want to go back to bed, as that's somehow admitting defeat. But sleep would be nice.

Anyway, I am NOT a morning person and don't think I've ever been awake at this hour, voluntarily, since moving to Pasadena, and kind of feel like I should get out and *do* something. (You know, that whole grab the moment, make the most of the day crap.)

So, back to bed or out to ... ?

watch some three hour foreign film you've always wanted to see.

Ha, I got up early yesterday morning and started watching a foreign film, and had to abandon it halfway through as I was nodding off, so I did go back to bed for a while.

Normally when up early I quite like getting the day's chores out of the way early.

Go back to bed. Grab the day tomorrow. You'll thank me.

Just say this affirmation: whatever I choose to do today will be perfect.

Thanks for the advice *grin*.

We decided to go drive down the Pacific Coast Highway and go to dinner in San Diego. But then we thought that first we'd just "pop over" to Tijuana (having not been there before). So we drove 'cross the border and promptly found ourselves quite lost.

'Twas wonderful.

Got home about 2 AM, spent an hour tucking in the needy hedgies, and then slept until 1 PM this Easter Sunday.

Now I'm going to make a meal consisting of roasted asparagus and fruit pizza and smoked salmon pasta. I wonder if any grocery stores are open today?

Are there not laws against putting fruit on pizza? I mean obviously that so-called fruit tomato is exempt, as is pineapple when used with ham, but otherwise it is surely immoral.

Go out to Huntington Library. Take a walk around the Arboretum. Take a ride into LA and go to Olvera Street, and eat some taquitos and candied cactus and smell the candles. Buy some jumping beans. Go to the beach. How about Prentice Park to look at the monkeys? Go up to the top of Lake Street and look ay my old house...

PS You could always go see a show at the Pasadena Playhouse (where I spent two years of my life). And then try Ernie Jr's Mexican food! Yummy!
