Crayon? Glass? Um, I've cleaned crayon off glass before using windex and ye olde elbow grease.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 18:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, why can't you validate these early artisitc attempts at mixed media and leave them on?

M. White (Miguelito), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 18:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Quite the wiseguy today, aren't you, Mike?

Ken L (Ken L), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

We are speaking of colored wax here, my good people. Because glass has an extremely high melting point, I would recommend a small blowtorch applied with gusto, saving only one proviso: I shall not be held responsible for any curtain fires, smoke damage or ear-splitting klaxons you set off. That's only fair, I think.

Aimless (Aimless), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 18:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Because glass has an extremely high melting point
..and a relatively low cracking point.

Maybe nail polish remover. or peanut butter.

Aimless (Aimless), Tuesday, 29 March 2005 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a citrus oil cleaner called De-Solv-It that cuts through every kind of adhesive, crayon or marker I've ever tried it on.

Thanks--I tried alcohol, fingernail polish remover, dish soap--what seemed to work best was soft scrub and lots and lots of elbow grease. If it happens again I'm gonna get me some De Solve... if it happens again they are toast.

Got here too late. You should have put a sheet of kitchen paper over it then used a warm iron over the top. The wax melts into the kitchen paper and hey presto! Also works well on carpet.

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Gee, I never imagined this would be so HARD. My elbows (no lie) are SORE. Thanks everyone for the good advice. Actually, it was kind of cool at first--when the sun shined thru it, it looked like NEON. But there was so MUCH of it:stars and mountains and pumpkins--all blue and orange. For some reason the blue came off easily, but the orange was like, tattooed on. :)

pepektheassassin (pepektheassassin), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

orange is always a pisser
