Maria (Maria), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 17:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Dan I., Wednesday, 30 March 2005 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

PUBLIC

Dan I., Wednesday, 30 March 2005 17:35 (twenty-one years ago)

surely that was on purpose

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 17:53 (twenty-one years ago)

funny, i was sure it really did say martial arts and i was gonna do one of those "haha i thought the title said marital arts" posts.

jody von oy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I haven't done any in public in a while but back when I did.... Classic!!

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Lone kid on the hill at dusk practicing karate kid kicks=classic.
Formerly, me practising aikido forms in the park=weirdo.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 17:58 (twenty-one years ago)

haha the cops didn't seem to think it was very classic when my friend and me were doing this in front of Sneaky Dee's Sunday night.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

(I think it's classic obv. Sometimes I think everyone should do martial arts. But then I realize they would be much less useful in that case.)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

friend and I

sundar subramanian (sundar), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

This is perhaps the best title typo ever.

I saw a weird guy giving sword lessons to a bunch of 10 year olds in the park. It reminded of that recent Homer Simpsonism: "There's nothing a parent likes more than when an eccentric older man takes an interest in his child..."

"Weird-beard D&D guys in teva's giving sword lessons in the park"

THIS sounds absolutely classic! That's like free comedy!

I saw a weird guy giving sword lessons to a bunch of 10 year olds in the park.

Is this some kind of euphemism?

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Naw, it's true. Me and a couple buddies were drinking beer in the park and we watched as this odd, squat, fortyish guy patiently taught these youngsters about sword-fighting. But it wasn't like chinese swords, it was more like creative-anachronism Lord of the Rings swords. He wore a weird black smock.

We were gonna kick his ass, just for good measure.

Oh in Oakland and Berkeley people always used to practice capoeira outdoors! that was awesome! Especially the specialized instruments they use

Dan I., Wednesday, 30 March 2005 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I was once told by a cop to stop doing taiji at a busstop. DUD!

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 19:05 (twenty-one years ago)
