I think "Look At Me" is a very good movie

If you get the chance to see this French film, I recommend it. It had everything I've missed in indie/arty films lately -- humanity, complex characters, superb acting, a lack of visual gimmicks, a nice balance between freshness and conventionality, witty writing, etc. A bit like a French Woody Allen film, except with no central, irritating Woody Allen-type character.

Oh, the bigshot writer? Well he was more dislikable than irritating. He wasn't meant to evoke sympathy in the same way Woody Allen is, and he wasn't as central.

I liked it a lot, one of the best movies of last year. The dad was indeed a horrible person, yet totally credible.
