The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

The Green Party, which is of course strong on environmental issues, takes a strong position on welfare issues, but was firmly against the war in Iraq. Other key concerns are cannabis, where the party takes a liberal line, and foxhunting, which unsurprisingly the Greens are firmly against.

i think that because they have hijacked a couple of more socialist principles and that this poll (or, to be fair, this election) doesn't have a proper socialist option for to pick we are all skewing towards LD

I think that anti-war bias is probably skewering the vote - three questions on The War and only one on transport? Reverse the proportion and I'd probably have come out a Green.

The Conservative Party is strongly against joining the Euro and against greater use of taxation to fund public services. The party broadly supported the Iraq war and backs greater policing and ID cards. The Tories are against increasing the minimum wage above the rate of inflation, and have committed to abolishing university tuition fees. They support 'virtual vouchers' for private education.

This makes no sense, I answered neutrally to the cannabis and road tax questions and strongly against the smoking ban yet it lists those policies as a reason for voting LD.
I can't work out how I got +11 for UKIP, are they in favour of allowing asylum seekers to work? Does their lack of policy on most of these issues give them an edge with neutral answers? Do I have an inner fascist?

As I'm from NI though, I can't vote for any of 'em! Balls. I'd be more enthusiastic about the Lib Dems is the word "liberal" wasn't in their name though. I'm not a fan of economic liberalism which makes me suspicious of their real motives re. public services.
