If it's, say, 56 degrees out, do I need to wear a jacket or sweater?

I can't believe I'm asking this. I'm lost without my mom.

(Call it a Mother's Day thread, though that wasn't the idea really.)

(56 degrees farenheit.)

RS_LaRue (RSLaRue), Sunday, 8 May 2005 21:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Only if you have a bag with enough space to fit a jacket or sweater in.

If you have no sweater (like me), wear a jacket. It's obvious.

So I should wear something? I'm trying to decide whether or not to go out tonight and it's turning out to be complicated. I'm going to be outside the whole time, that's why it matters as much as it does.

Actually, next Sunday looks like it could be a better night to go out than tonight and it might be okay to just wait a week.

Blazer or sport coat dude...

56 degrees farenheit is cold, so I recommend whichever is warmer. Perhaps the sweater will be better since you're going to be outside and won't have to worry about needing to take it off and having rumpled hair if it is a pullover. But I recommend that you not put off going out to next week. On the other hand, if you must, then who am I to argue?

If it's been warm and the temp has cooled to 56, neither. A t-shirt bottom layer, maybe. If it's been cold and has warmed to 56, the lightest jacket you have.

Word. I don't wear layers unless I have something in which to deposit them later.

The problem is, I should probably cover my head then too, because any little chill makes my sinuses bad, and I am not going to go out dancing (I was being secretive about the actual activity for some reason) with a hat on my head. So I will wait.

x-post

(I'm not carrying a bag around either.)

I wonder if you are a bit of a fusspot.

estela (estela), Sunday, 8 May 2005 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Definitely.

There's worse things a person can be.

estela (estela), Sunday, 8 May 2005 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Alas, no guarantee I am not those as well.

RS_LaRue (RSLaRue), Sunday, 8 May 2005 22:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Alas indeed.

Whatever your secret faults, RS, you are certainly adorable. Wear a jacket, we don't want you catching cold.

56 is perfect for a denim jacket.

slightly more subdued (kenan), Monday, 9 May 2005 02:09 (twenty-one years ago)

My mom wouldn't let me have a denim jacket, and now I don't want one.

RS_LaRue (RSLaRue), Monday, 9 May 2005 22:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Stupid old denim jacket.

estela (estela), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 00:32 (twenty-one years ago)

...so what'd you decide?

mouse (mouse), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 00:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I stayed home. I'm satisfied with my decision.
