Booze Shame of ILX Ronan

I saw an obviously inebriated Ronan make his way homeward from the Off-License on Sunday, carrying many more bottles of alcohol.

Have you ever seen someone from ILX on their way home from a liquor store?

DV (dirtyvicar), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 15:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Uh, no. None of you live where I do. Which is good, because there would be reports of gib drunk on the bus waaaaaay too much.

giboyeux (skowly), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Didn't Dog Latin work in an off-license?

And I have definitely seen Ken C, Liz:x and Rob *AT* a liquor store perusing trampagne.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes I did Roxy (great memory btw).

I've seen Kate Masonic, Ken C, Liz:x and Pinkpanther (you still out there?) buying booze but it was in a Marks n Spencers so I don't know if that counts.

And I'm sure I must have been to an off licence with Gravel Puzzleworth at some point except I wouldn't remember.

dog latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

i've seen a few leaving liquor stores, including: anna, suzy, ed, phil-two, ddb, hstencil. in each case, i was right behind them or waiting in the car outside.

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

What's an off-license?

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:15 (twenty-one years ago)

licker store.

I'm going to photoshop this thread title in a mock tabloid style.

$V£N! (blueski), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:16 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, and gareth. how could i forget gareth?

lauren (laurenp), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:20 (twenty-one years ago)

it's a little known fact that during roxymuzak's last visit to the uk - the first shop she visited since stepping out of the airport was indeed an off-license!!!!! :-D

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I've only run into Chris Barrus at a record store.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, me too darnit!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I was sober! I had not had a drink until those bottles! This is libel!

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 16:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Denial isn't just a river in Egypt, dude.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't know, Ronan, the story clearly states that you were obviously inebriated.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, that's the way I heard it.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan seeks to clear his good name. But this might enhance it!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:06 (twenty-one years ago)

It was 10pm and I had had nothing to drink at all. I went out for dinner with my Dad then my friend phoned and suggested a drink, so we went to the Off Licence and bought 6 bottles of beer each.

I didn't pay for a bag on the way out, thinking "the car is right there, who will see me anyway!"

But I was WRONG! Please do not punish me for my tight fisted refusal to buy a plastic bag!

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Drinking out of a bag!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:11 (twenty-one years ago)

(Tuesday, May 10, 2:17 PM)
A tired and emotional Fitzgerald rubbished reports of binge booze buying while supremely sauced on a side street over the weekend. The raucous raver issued a statement claiming his eco-friendly attitude was misinterpreted by bystanders, but admitted to being "wrong!".

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sickened by these revelations.

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:19 (twenty-one years ago)

There was no bag, that's what I'm trying to tell you

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

you lot didnt see the shameful episode on farringdon road, february 2004, post derrick carter. the 'fake begging' episode, the stellas at 1030am waiting for the pubs to open episode,

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

that was pretty bad alright!

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Drinking out on the street without a bag? *shakes head in disbelief* What about the children???

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 19:12 (twenty-one years ago)

You have to harden them while young, Spencer, it's for their own good.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I heard the children each got a swig too.

TEH SHAME!

donut debonair (donut), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

THE GOLF RAVER IS THE PIED PIPER

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

that said, I remember my first night in London, I was with Swygart, Masonic Boom, Ken C, Colette, Matt DC, and Gareth on a quest to purchase booze. Ken and Colette were contracted to sweet-talk liquor out of the store, and they succeeded.

donut debonair (donut), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Can we please use the correct spelling? BOUZE.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

ROMPIN' RONAN: "DON'T PUNISH ME"
(Update: May 10)
"It was pretty bad alright!" Fitzgerald finally admitted today as reports of writer's public drunk shocker swept an unsuspecting nation. A spontaneous Internet-vention erupted on ILX, a bizarre underground message board frequented by the drunken author, but only time will tell what affect this pathetic attempt will have on the liquor-happy lad.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

My client would like to apologise for his conduct. He is completing a thesis at the moment and is extremely stressed. Nonetheless this is no excuse for loutish behaviour, which sets such a bad example.

He apologises unreservedly to fans worldwide, and has promised to personally fund and oversee a local campaign to discourage public drinking, and feigned begging.

Maurie Stein (Ronan), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Well I for one won't be reading his posts any more - and I will not allow my children to read them either.

moley, Tuesday, 10 May 2005 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I see Wacko Rono is in the news again.

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I heard he lets just about *anybody* download his Omnipotent Baby mixes - if you know what I mean...

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 20:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Love rat Ronan fathers omnipotent baby.

Leon Fleet Street (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel so ashamed

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 20:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I've seen Trayce consuming alcohol, but seen only esoj at the booze shop and I was buying cases of beer with him, so it would be self-sabotage to quote this example....oops I already did.

I walk along a thin line darling / Kate (papa november), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

cases?

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:03 (twenty-one years ago)

there's no smoke without fire.

DV (dirtyvicar), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I've seen esoj pissed as a newt on more than one occasion, which is always good value (cos I'm worse when I'm smashed anyway).

I saw Tim on the tram the other day, but I am quite sure he wasnt drunk, nor had been at a bottle shop ;)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

jaXon walked in front of my car clutching a bag of beer and was visibly inebrieted and/or high many months ago. I honked at him and he stared at me with utter incomprehension.

kyle (akmonday), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

the only time ronan ever came to a mongrels thread was to talk about beer

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I've seen Jordan C.
with some alcohol in him--

RF's GF: "It's about to get Andy Capp up in here."

The Irrelevant Man (Negativa) (Barima), Thursday, 12 May 2005 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Mullygrubber was observed at a Whitehouse performance, obviously inebriated, yet loudly bemoaning the fact that he could not afford any more beer. Shameful.
