My lovebird died last night of Teflon Toxicosis. After bleeding into his lungs he suffered a long and painful death by suffocation. Did you know that Teflon is also horrifically dangerous to people, rivers, oceans, polar bears, etc. as well as birds? Even at normal use temperatures it gives off toxic gases. At high temps its much worse. I have thrown out all my Teflon!

have you heard about the whole eddie bauer wrinkle-free teflon thingy?

uncool. sucks. this teflon ban has been around but it seems like nobody has really told consumers.

its really difficult to buy non non-stick pans etc. i hate teflon, it is worthless. sorry to hear about yr bird. im curious, what stuff have you got t replace your teflon pans? ed? good non-teflon kitchenware?

I replaced all my Teflon stuff with stainless steel. I hope their copper bottoms aren't toxic. In people, the teflon gas produces cough, fever, sore throat, tight chest, .... We are all killing ourselves, and the air, and the planet. O well. I didn't intend to get into all that. Just wanted to warm other of the dangers of Teflon.

I'm sorry to hear about your bird. I know PetSmart campaigns about the dangers of Teflon, but I've never really heard about it anywhere else.
