What are good sitcoms currently on the American air?

I realized that there hasn't been a live action sitcom that I actually loved in a long time, and I don't watch any now. I've been getting all my humor from hour-long dramas and reality tv, but there is a void where my HEART should be that a nice, heart-soothing live action sitcom can fill. I hear the Scrubs are good?

Wait for the Arrested Development reruns this summer on Fox.

I don't know about the more recent ones, but the reruns of Malcolm in the Middle usually make me giggle at least once per episode.

Arrested Development is only ok for me. I need something a bit more traditional and perhaps less surreal and more warm-squishy-heartwarming. Something to make me feel good to be alive (barf). (I have also a strong aversion to the nihilism of Family Guy and South Park and would prefer something more conservative like King of the Hill, which I really should start watching again.)

Bernie Mac. King of the Hill is great, too.

Yeah, definitely start watching King of the Hill again. I can't think of anything else on the air that fits your criteria that is any good. Sitcoms are in pretty sad shape.

I guess It's not strictly a sitcom tho...forgive me, I just like to laugh at stupid bits

BOBS BURGERS, GRACE AND FRANKIE, PLAYING HOUSE, LADY DYNAMITE, SUPERSTORE, BLACK-ISH. I've heard good things about THE CARMICHAEL SHOW and (the now canceled) THE GRINDER. also CRAZY EX GIRLFRIEND is pretty great though not exactly a sitcom.

Always Sunny in Philadelphia still going strong.

the joke should be over once the kid is eaten. (chap), Wednesday, 15 June 2016 12:49 (ten years ago)

I don't think Portlandia quite counts as a sitcom.</pedant>

I wish ANGIE TRIBECA was funnier but its pacing is just so off-putting. Not sure if "slightly more self-aware POLICE SQUAD!" is a successful comic conceit.

I don't know if I'd like AT if I didn't know Steve Carrell is behind it. Love that guy
