FRIGHTENING DREAM

...last night. I was in this huge warehouse, w/people milling about going about their normal business. Everyone had been told that horrible demons and monsters were going to come and fuck everything over at an alloted hour and kill everyone if they didn't escape through this door. I was trying to get to the door, but all the other people didn't care, or didn't believe the threat, and they were getting in my way. I didn't make it to the door in time, and these things suddenly appeared, and started just taking everything away, people and objects. I reached the door to safety, and looked through it, but it was too late, the things were in there as well. I looked out of the door, but the things had taken away the floor and the ceiling and there was just this vast empty void. I went out through another door, where the things had taken away the ceiling, but not the floor. I ran for a bit then looked up, and saw a thing hovering above me. It looked like a big burlap sack, and it looked like it was blowing in the wind, but it was staying in the same place. It has this horrible evil grinning face, and it was looking at me. I woke up, and was so terrified by this apparition that I couldn't get back to sleep for about an hour.

Looking back, it just seems ridiculous - a hovering sack? WTF? But, it was SO SCARY!!!

Relate yr scariest & most memorable nightmares, plz, so I won't feel like a lonely mentalist.

Being tied to helicopter blades.

My most horrible recent dream involved finding a hurt rabbit, not one of my actual rabbits, but just a rabbit. It had been hit by a car and basically all its innards had been bashed out across the road but it was still alive, not in a twitching dying sense, it was sitting there rather forlornly licking at where its stomach used to be and finding only the back of its ribcage. I decided to put it out of its misery and tried to kill it with a brick but it wouldn't die and eventually I had to squash its head with the brick. It was really grotesque and disturbing, particularly as I like rabbits a great deal: it probably comes from my occasional fear that I'll cripple one of our house rabbits by shutting a door on it when it's halfway out.

It was also weird because my dreams are hardly ever gory.

My dreams are too frightening to talk about here.

Last night I had a dream for the second time where I can't speak, and I keep trying to speak but nothing comes out. I was walking at night with my friends, but then they all suddenly left and I had to get a taxi but when I got in the taxi I couldn't speak to say where I wanted to go, even though I kept trying, and I tried to write it down but it just came out all spelt wrong and unclear and the taxi driver didn't understand. Last time I had this can't-speak dream it was the night before I had an oral exam, so it was pretty obvious when I woke up why I'd had it, but I don't know why I had it last night. After I woke up, I went back to sleep and had another dream that I'd woken up in a strange house full of people but I couldn't open my eyes properly and I couldn't remember which room was supposed to be my room, so I was just walking around this house searching for my room.

Both these dreams were really terrifying, I haven't fully recovered yet. I don't usually have these sort of dreams that seem to beg interpretation. It unsettles me.

I dreamt the other day that I shaved my body hair, and then I looked in the mirror at my reflection and woke up screaming.

... And suddenly Ian Riese-Moraine is a naked man saying, 'Volvo! Volvo!' (Easte, Tuesday, 17 May 2005 09:22 (twenty-one years ago)

my mates dream:

She was running down a steep road towards a brook of some kind, with the intention of jumping over it. As she tried to jump she slipped on some shit on the floor and landed right in the middle of the brook. Unluckily the brook was filled entirely with more shit. As she struggled to swim in the torrid brown filth she muttered in dismay, "shit!"

and thereupon she awoke.

i dream that i am in london, I am jsut walking down the street, but it as though i have just materialised where I am standing. It suddenly dawns on me that everyone else is walking around with panick stricken faces. One of them says 'look, its coming' I look where they are pointing, and see a baloon with a big round box on the bottom of it, it is an H bomb, I have very little time. I start running for cover, everyone else just seems resigned to it. I enter one place i think will be safe, only to realise that the floor of it is an open grate and the blast will come through un hindered. It does, I die, then I wake up.
I know that the baloon thing comes from having seen footage of the Bikini atol experiments, where the bomb was floated under a baloon. I was never frightened of nuclear holocaust as a kid, so why does it haunt my dreams now?

When I was a child, I had this awful recurring dream about Pink Panther insulation. I guess it started when I was at, I don't know, Menards or something, with my dad, and I saw the fluffy pink insulation rolls with the familiar cartoon character, and I went to touch them and he said, "No, that's fiberglass, it will cut you."
So I had this nightmare over and over again where I went down to the kitchen for breakfast, and my mom was making coffee and my dad was reading the paper, both with their backs to me, and then, suddenly, they both turned around and they were made of that pink insulation, and they chased me. It was awful.
Also, a few nights ago I had a dream that I was the mom from Malcolm in the Middle, and I got sent to hell in this enormous elevator and there were chutes sending people to different rooms, and I landed in this sort of office-looking room and the devil was there, although he looked more like a frat boy, and he pointed to this huge book and I was supposed to find my name in it and read the list of my sins aloud to the group, but I was the mom from Malcolm in the Middle and, therefore, had no idea what my real name was, because I have no idea what that woman's name is. And everybody was getting real antsy.

As she struggled to swim in the torrid brown filth she muttered in dismay, "shit!"

I once had a dream I had murdered and cut someone up, and to hide the body I COOKED THE CHOPPED PARTS in a giant cooking pot. Like a mutton soup. It was all fatty and oily and STANK of a sickly, rich, human flesh and fat smell. That really disturbed me, because it was so vivid, it was like I'd got into someone elses head! :(

I had another very very disturbing dream I was convinced was me being in someone else's mind when I once dreamt I became schizophrenic. I was seeing things no one else was, and I knew I was losing my mind, and I went to see a shrink who told me he was going to try some technique on me. I was terrified, and wanted to pick up a chair and throw it at him,but I thought "I cant let them know I'm going nuts or they'll lock me up". Suddenly the walls of the room went SLAM! and up came this array of mirrors, panels of mirrors all cracked and reflecting each other and everything in the room over and over in a jumbled mess.

...everyone else just seems resigned to it.

Funny how this is quite normal in dreams - "Look guys, a fucking giant zombie robot! Runnn!" everyone else is like "Meh, yeh what ya gonna do".

dog latin (dog latin), Wednesday, 18 May 2005 07:38 (twenty-one years ago)

It blows my mind when I think of complicated dreams, with maybe lots of people about and lots of detail in the scenery, and I realise that I have made all of it in my mind!

Wow!

seven years pass...

Had a weird one last night where I was at the wheel of an SUV or people carrier or something. I knew taht I didn't have it taxed and I didn't have a driving license or insurance. I kept driving through various places with the fear of having the car taken off me(so May have not been fully dreaming) wound up driving through a town in a bus lane or something where there were suddenly a lot of cops on the pavement. I was thinking there was a jubilee celebration in the town. just remember feeling realy nervous about being stopped by the cops but then being nearly surrounded by them and still driving. Then woke up before I got stopped.
