Has anyone ever been in a sensory deprivation chamber?

I've been intrigued by these things for years, but I know of nowhere to go that has one (boston area).

can anyone on ILX who has ever been in one and lived to tell the tale, well, tell me the tale?

I tried it early this year where it was more of a room than a tank. I couldn't settle into it, I'm too antsy and it was too easy to bump into one of the sides and snap out of it. I assume it's something you learn/get used to like meditation but as expensive and inconvenient as it is I didn't try again.
