TS: sliced deli turkey: Loaf vs. natural

For lack of a better term, the "loaf" is the reconstituted stuff that has none of the graininess of "real" turkey. the natural flavor is a bit lacking, but what you lose there, you gain in uniformity. no icky fatty pockets and no "skin" to contend with.

The natural stuff can taste better if it's premium quality, but more often than not, it isnt. and you have to put up with said fat and skin.

My choice is clear: Loaf!

I can go either way, no problem, but I do have a soft spot for the loaf.

Of course, it's only been the past couple of years that I finally stopped buying the occasional can of Spaghetti-Os.

Natural is really the only way to go. Personally I think the flavour's far better myself, especially if you eat it while still hot (cold it seems to lose its flavour a little).

I love my turkey and used to eat a lot of the processed stuff, but have gone right off it lately.... half the time it didn't end up tasting like actual turkey at all. Who knows what else they add into it?

If it's loaf, you don't know what the heck's in there or where the heck it's been. If it's natural, there's a better chance it's all the way God intended.

god made the loaf too.

Perhaps so, but a lesser god.
