Wrong board, dude. Besides, what about Los Zafiros? They kinda rocked.

Rickey Wright (Rrrickey), Friday, 20 May 2005 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i sort of like the manics. my brother is a huge fan of theirs, moreso than I by about 20x, but they're got some decent stuff. also, they backed up kylie on her best album.

Gear! (can Jung shill it, Mu?) (Gear!), Friday, 20 May 2005 22:19 (twenty-one years ago)

three months pass...
While I was sick in bed this week, a biography of the Manic Street Preachers was the only book within reach. I read it all. I have only heard one of their songs, which I didn't like, but I now know eveything about them. Please come to me with any questions/concerns.

Oh, and Gear: Nicky Wire once got beaten up in his hometown for going out in a Kylie t-shirt.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 15 September 2005 15:37 (twenty years ago)

I'm gonna have to give Nicky Wire a bit of a classic, here.
"I know this is a benefit, but I fucking hate Blur."

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 15 September 2005 15:39 (twenty years ago)

i like the fat dude

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 September 2005 09:21 (twenty years ago)

i think it's right that this isn't on ilm, because they were never primarily a musical phenomenon.

N_RQ, Friday, 16 September 2005 09:24 (twenty years ago)

Oh, and Gear: Nicky Wire once got beaten up in his hometown for going out in a Kylie t-shirt.

Oh aye, I believe him, thousands wouldn't

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 September 2005 09:43 (twenty years ago)

THere is this token chapter in the book about the larger Manic entitled Sean Moore: An Appreciation. It is like 3 pages long.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:25 (twenty years ago)

... 2 pages of which are photos

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:26 (twenty years ago)

... of someone else

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:26 (twenty years ago)

so otm

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:31 (twenty years ago)

well yeah since a photo section of him would more likely to be 3 pages WIDE.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:32 (twenty years ago)

i assumed 'the fat one' = james.

N_RQ, Friday, 16 September 2005 11:34 (twenty years ago)

So did I - so is that what happened to Richey Wossname, the other two ate him?

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:35 (twenty years ago)

i meant the singing guy! which one is he?

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:38 (twenty years ago)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:39 (twenty years ago)

i like his executioner's gloves best.

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:40 (twenty years ago)

I really really hope some hardcore Manics fans google this thread

Raymond Douglas Dadaismus (Dada), Friday, 16 September 2005 11:56 (twenty years ago)

haha as if they have enough wrist muscle intact to use computers

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 September 2005 12:42 (twenty years ago)

You take that back about Allyzay.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 16 September 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

JDB isn't ugly, he's masculine! I am officially into Nicky Wire, btw. Oh, and I decided I like "Revol." This is my first Manics "thing".

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 00:39 (twenty years ago)

What about "Motorcycle Emptiness"?

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Saturday, 17 September 2005 00:44 (twenty years ago)

Haven't heard it yet! My careful research has revealed to me that it doesn't blow. Care to gmail?!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 00:50 (twenty years ago)

Ok, going back to that picture above, yes, JDB has gone a bit Porklife. It's apparently a post-Richey case of "I hate myself and I want a pie."

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 00:56 (twenty years ago)

this will be me in a few weeks

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 01:05 (twenty years ago)

No problem. I'll need to rip it as I only have manics bootleg gigs on my drive.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Saturday, 17 September 2005 01:09 (twenty years ago)

Sent.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Saturday, 17 September 2005 01:52 (twenty years ago)

thanks dude!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 04:04 (twenty years ago)

No problem. ILX awaits your verdict...

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Saturday, 17 September 2005 10:43 (twenty years ago)

In the meantime, I decided I also like "Yes."

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 15:08 (twenty years ago)

What does this opening thing mean, "they brought rock to Cuba"? I don't understand the joke.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 15:10 (twenty years ago)

They were the first (officially sanctioned) non-Cuban rock band put on a concert in Cuba.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 17 September 2005 15:18 (twenty years ago)

THAT'S VERY INTERESTING

Let me guess, they were also the last.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 15:29 (twenty years ago)

No, they let Audioslave in next.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 17 September 2005 15:31 (twenty years ago)

good god

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Saturday, 17 September 2005 16:27 (twenty years ago)

But then they had to go and let Audioslave back out.

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Saturday, 17 September 2005 22:25 (twenty years ago)

i just downloaded all the tracks. thanks pfunk. i'm burning them to a cd which I will listen to in the a.m.

Important: what is the video in which Richard and Nicholas make out in underoos?

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 18 September 2005 21:27 (twenty years ago)

All of them?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 18 September 2005 21:42 (twenty years ago)

SWEET

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 18 September 2005 22:03 (twenty years ago)

I just watched one and all I could make out was what appeared to be a homoerotic feeding of oysters to one another.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 18 September 2005 22:04 (twenty years ago)

Nicky Wire in a banana suit.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Sunday, 18 September 2005 22:16 (twenty years ago)
