Do You Like music?

I like music ok, but sometimes I think what influances me to like a particular band or solo artist at any given moment is something they represent to me, not just the music and the words. FOr example, my current Kate BUsh fixation. what does this pixie-like screaming siren resonate with in mine own soul vault! jesus' knees! help me please!

i had a job interview today and they made me do some personality tests. one of the questions was whether i enjoyed listening to music. the job has nothing to do with music.

Sure, but it's a useful question for weeding out foil-chewing types who can't dig *some* kind of sounds.

i should have said no.

That probably would have given the go-getter impression that you are no doubt trying to project, Jody.

I'm sorry, but when somebody asks me "Do You Like Music" I can't help but find it to be an annoying question, way too general, perhaps lifted from the How to Be a Good Conversationalist Book.

I'm still trying to figure out what that question tells about your personality that would be helpful to an employer. Did they also ask you whether you preferred secular Islamic art or Japanese o-kinayoo (sp?)?

(I've got ILX all to myself)

(You wish!)
Hm. Do I?
(Like music?)
I wonder, sometimes.

I don't listen to music that often anymore. I find it quite distracting if I am working or reading or computering. I prefer to listen to TV or radio 4 when I am in the kitchen. I do still love music, but I have absolutely 0 interest in talking about it ever and I have only bought two records all year. And one of them I haven't listened to. And they are both about 20 years old. i think I am just off music for a while because I am in a books and radio phase. I love music most when I am out and dancing.
