Lost Property

So, as I noted on Colette's birthday thread, I lost my gig bag on the night bus home last night. I'll filled in a lost property claim form, but apparently things don't arrive at the Baker Street lost property office until at least 4 days after they are found. If they are found.

Argh! My beautiful guitar pedals! My delay/sampler! My MXR distortion pedal! My Phaser! The stage tuner my old drummer gave me for my 25th birthday. :-(

Has anyone ever had any experiences of lost property actually being *found* and turned in?

I just hope that someone doesn't open it, see all the cables and think it's a bomb.

Your pedals! Damn, I hope you get them back!

It's not a *total* disaster as I have doubles of some of the pedals I lost (Big Muff distortion and an Electric Mistress Phaser/Flanger) but I'd be gutted to lose the others forever. They were all covered in glitter and sparkly.

Please, please, PLEASE, does anyone in London have a tuner I can borrow tomorrow? It's the one thing no one else in my band has. :-(

I lost a whole bunch of ID on a bus from Glasgow to London en route to Bowlie (you were supposed to take some ID with you for chalet-key-getting purposes, so I had utility bills, my driving licence, my birth certificate etc, all of which were left on the bus).

I noticed about five minutes after we left Victoria, ran back, dealt with the most hopeless customer services people ever, phoned all up and down the country chasing *someone* who could tell me where the bus had gone with my stuff on it, but nothing.

It took me about three years to realise that someone could have stolen my identity with all that stuff, but I figure it'd all just gone in a bin somewhere in the vicinity of Victoria Bus station.

Oh, you wanted *good* experiences? Well, I got into Bowlie anyway.

I have left bags on buses twice, and both times they have been handed in and I've got them back. I also once left a tenor horn on a bus, and I got that back too. I hope you get your stuff back.

I once got a wallet returned to me (minus cash and band card, but with all ID still entact) but then the bloke who returned it to me started hitting on me and acting all creepy, and I got The Fear that he'd actually nicked it at the bar in lieu of a cheesey chatup line.

I once found a wallet on the train. I looked at the ID and found the owner was going to college with me, so it was really simple to call her up and tell her I had her wallet.

So someone found Emsk's wallet on the night bus and turned it in. I'm hoping that someone will have done the same with my gigbag... argh!

If they hand it in, don't forget to thank them via the Metro letters page!

I lost my purse with £300 spending money in it the night before I was going on holiday. My mum lent me a hundred quid, which was really nice of her, but it was a boozy school trip and I was skint after about 2 days. I got home a week later, tidied my room and found my purse under my bed! It was good that I suddenly had £200 to spend on whatever I wanted, but I was still pissed off with myself. And my nickname was Percy for about a year after.

^^^

someone left their iPhone on the bus tonight. I picked it up so someone wouldn't nick it but now I have it and don't know what to do with it. I'll probably just hand it in at the tube station tomorrow morning (it was all closed tonight) just to get shot of it, but I'm worried it'll just disappear.

Just noise and screaming and no musical value at all. (Colonel Poo), Thursday, 29 November 2012 23:51 (thirteen years ago)

Earlier today I left a small rucksack containing a Kindle Paperwhite, my son's emergency medicine, two decent umbrellas and an ipod with some beats headphones attached in a taxi. I first rang Asda and they looked at CCTV footage and confirmed I had walked out with the rucksack I described, then I rang the taxi rank and they dropped it off within 20 minutes. I must have been very lucky today.
