Bit of a clear-out at Chelsea I reckon. Scott Parker to Everton, Geremi back to Middlesbrough and someone like West Brom to waste a load of money loaning Carlton Cole for the season.

Villa and Everton seem to be shying away from Bellamy after it emerged that his £38kpw deal at Newcastle is due to rise to £50kpw in a couple of weeks and he expects potential suitors to match it. So to sign him for £6M on a 3 year deal will cost almost £14M plus bonuses.

Celtic are allegedly after Polish international striker Maciej Zurawski from Wisla Krakow, which suggests they too have given up on Bellamy.

Yes most of the them played there last season ! Chelsea would have flown up to Manchester Airport the day before, stayed in a plush 5 star hotel and then coached it to Bolton. So they would have an idea of where it is / how far to travel etc.

It's possible though that some of them don't give a monkeys about maps - as long as they win.

For the new signings just tell 'em it's north of Manchester.

Astonishingly, we DID end up signing Crawley Town's reserve keeper, who has just been voted Player of the Year. It's a funny old game.

Not a lot of these came true did they? (though, a year down the line, Celtic actually now have a pre-contract agreement with Derek Riordan for him to sign in January)
