Taking Sides: Star Wars Episode 3 Vs Moulin Rouge Vs Star Wars Episode 2 Vs Star Wars Episode 1

OK, here's the surprising thing - I liked... hold on, I LOVED Star Wars episode 3. After two bullshit prequels that could inspire only boredom, part 3 was gripping, exciting... damn, I enjoyed it.

Part 2 was, likely, better than part one but still a long way from Part 3 which - in my opinion - is where I may consider starting the series from hereon in.

Moulin Rouge is worse than any of the Star Wars films.

I beg to differ. I sat through "Moulin Rouge" and did not enjoy it. I had to turn episode one off after a while b/c I couldn't stand it any more. Also, "Return of the Jedi" is bloody terrible.

star wars episode one, that is, "the phantom menace"? (IIRC) it was so bad it wasn't even funny. That bllody alien w/the floppe ears & eyes on stalks, wtf?

Can't be bothered with that Star Wars business.

Moulin Rouge for me then.

Some bright fella called Moulin Rouge "a monument to attention-deficit disorder," so it essentially IS a Star Wars prequel (with worse music).

A better contest wd perhaps be moulin rouge vs abolute beginners vs that version of "romeo and juliet" w/what's his name, turnip head actor in it.

I'm not very w/it to-day, as you can see.

Lucas might as well have let Luhrmann direct the prequels.

Who was the guy who directed "highlander"? That would have been better. Actually no, hang on it probably wouldn't have been any different, except more gothic, so actually, yes it would have been better.

Highlander = Russell Mulcahey.

Winnah = Moulin Rouge by a wide wide wide wide wide wide margin. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.

I think I'd rather watch the SW Holiday Special than Moulin Rouge. If only Jim Broadbent had been cast as a Sith Lord.

nicole kidman is nice to look at, but all of these films are dire.

"Hey Star Wars prequels - get some better beats, and get some better rhymes!"

Moulin Rouge aaaall the way.

I'm in agreement with the opening post. I couldn't even sit through Moulin Rouge as a whole -- I watched bits of that train wreck and got through it in four days. I was able to sit through Episode I through its entirety.
