Eugene Levy is really, really good in it.

Huk-L, Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:01 (twenty-one years ago)

FOLK WISDOM DISPENSED HERE COURTESY OF "BLACK FOLK"

The Sensational Sulk (sexyDancer), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:02 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, and bewildering nearly on the scale of 'confessions of a teenage drama queen."

carly (carly), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't find the "results" of the above pic. google images has decency shockah.

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I was subjected to this on a train ride from Vancouver to Seattle. I didn't hear the audio, but I just watched the video, since there wasn't much else to do. I didn't really need to hear the audio, from what I could gather.

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I like how Brooklyn gets pwn3d in that one scene where everyone is trying to drive back and there's a sign that says something like "Bridge To Brooklyn -- Fuggehdaboutit"

HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:05 (twenty-one years ago)

it is funny
because it is true.

The Sensational Sulk (sexyDancer), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I had to review this in a cinema in Toronto -- at one point in the movie the olsen twins actually walk past the cinema building, and i was hoping they'd walk into the cinema, blazing saddles-style -- but NO.

Also, the Flatiron building in Toronto looks nothing like the one in NYC.

Andy Richter's accent = ?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

you are my spiritual brother, chuck.

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Whoa. The closest I ever get to that is watching football games taking place down the street on television.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:23 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah donut, thanks to marty markowitz our bridges actually do have signs that say that.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:23 (twenty-one years ago)

New York is even more magical than I thought!

Leon Federline (Ex Leon), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:25 (twenty-one years ago)

TS: Toronto as NYC vs Vancouver as NYC (see: Rumble In the Bronx with mountains clearly visible beyond skyline)

Huk-L, Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:27 (twenty-one years ago)

the rumble in the bronx thing is hilarious.

also in angel eyes (set in chicago) you can see the cn tower all the time.

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Toronto -- sorry, RACCOON CITY -- gets nuked in Resident Evil: Apocalype. And zombies keep walking past "CanStage" adverts.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

The best bit is the Dubbya Bobblehead!

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I believe I have seen this movie ten minutes at a time through about ten showings on cable. I admired not one bit of it. Though at one point I did say to myself, "Glad Andy Richter's not going hungry."

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Quintuplets has been cancelled though. So maybe Andy's hoping for New York Hour, or Another New York Minute, or New York Minute and A Half, or Dr. T and Some More Women.

NEITHER IS THAT BLAAAZOOOW!

(Seriously though... did they just spend a day filming in front of a couple NY landmarks?)

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

whoa, i have been really near to where they're standing by the flatiron. me and 20 bazillion other people.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh! I remember that building in Toronto! Unless there is another one that looks much like it. I'd like to visit Toronto again. I was 8 the last time.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:44 (twenty-one years ago)

They were filming a scene for that crappy Will Smith date film near the Flatiron last summer when I was working there. Actually right near that tan building behind Mary Kate, or is that Ashley, on the right?

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, this is the part I remember best:

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

that's the toy building, i think.

i had the same feeling watching "across 110th street," once.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah donut, thanks to marty markowitz our bridges actually do have signs that say that.

Who's Markowitz? I googled and he's DA PRESIDENT OF BROOKLYN. I assume he's someone not to keen on development issues or the funding thereof between Manhattan and Brooklyn eastward from what I gather?

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:54 (twenty-one years ago)

One of the Sadies taught Mary-Kate how to play drums for this movie.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

no donut you'd be totally wrong. marty is totally all for manhattan-style overdevelopment and eminent domain landgrabs in brooklyn.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 26 May 2005 18:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, so he's too PRO-development as opposed to too ANTI-development... got it.

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 26 May 2005 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

You know, I feel slight shame here, but there was something sickeningly appealing about watching the twins fall into dumpsters and sewers all the time throughout the movie, I must admit.

donut debonair (donut), Thursday, 26 May 2005 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Trashist.
