Judge: Parents can't teach pagan beliefs
Father appeals order in divorce decree that prevents couple from exposing son to Wicca.

An Indianapolis father is appealing a Marion County judge's unusual order that prohibits him and his ex-wife from exposing their child to "non-mainstream religious beliefs and rituals."

The parents practice Wicca, a contemporary pagan religion that emphasizes a balance in nature and reverence for the earth.

Cale J. Bradford, chief judge of the Marion Superior Court, kept the unusual provision in the couple's divorce decree last year over their fierce objections, court records show. The order does not define a mainstream religion...

so, can the parents raise the child in the ways of the Jedi, since enough people list that they subscribe to that?

man, we should go somewhere and start our OWN country where people can worship whatever they like and don't have to pay taxes without representation and, and... oh never mind....

What the hell do they regard as mainstream religions? Are they going to stop people from being involved in $cientology? Waco cults? Nation of Islam? I mean come on.

can judges be disbarred? I mean, this is blatantly illegal on so many levels.

Yeah how is this working in the US? I dont understand how all these judges are just making calls on their own that seem to go against precedent, and even law. WTF? Theyre working with the LAW!

this should get knocked out on Establishment Clause grounds.

also, this judge should not only be booted off the bench but also disbarred. alas, i think that ohio elects its judges :-(
