I think they would have to call it VH-1 2. That would be cool. Cuz then everyone would call it VH-12, and they'd be all, "NOOOOO, it's 1, 2."

My guess is that first they came up with Video Hits = VH and realized they needed another letter or at least another character, as all networks have three letters, the same way cartoon characters have three fingers, so they came up with the "1," implying they were number one, the first and the best.

I believe they've formally changed the network's name to VH1. (I am a copyeditor and therefore take great interest in seemingly esoteric minutiae of that nature.)

Does VH1 show videos any more? Whenever I flip to that channel, it seems to be in the middle of a "50 [extreme manifestations of some current pop culture phenom.]" marathon.
