(Elephant Diary on the BBC last night. I think they are going to do it every week or possibly ever night!)
I want a baby elephant, they are the cutest things on earth. Except they would grow up to be adult elephants which are kind of big to keep in a terrace house in South London. Perhaps I can just sponsor one.

But the elephants at the shelter were SOOO CUTE. Especially when their keepers would be lying down trying to take a nap and the elephants would come over and tickle their faces with their trunks. They looked so surprisingly affectionate.

"Will Wendy accept me?""Oh my goodness, she has not crushed me!!!"..."I'm speechless!" (in breathy BBC radio announcer voice, like he has to tell us he's speechless instead of standing, looking gobsmacked at the elephant which would be much more expressive.
Where did you get that picture, Beanz, it's adorable!

Yes, it was very sad, and they did overdo the "oh no, these emotionally damaged elephants bit" but it was interesting to think that elephants were so intelligent and socially complex.

But it was weird that they kept using therapy-speak to describe it, rather than saying "these babies are heartbroken cause they've lost their mums!"
