I'm definitely in the Reno camp, I way prefer it. The little pawnshops, the run-down Vietnamese restaurants, abandoned downtown hotels.. so much cooler, and the train runs right downtown. Vegas is a sinister lie.

If memory serves, only parts of Bad Day At Black Rock were actually filmed in the Black Rock Desert - most of it was filmed in Lone Pine, CA.
