When I was a child I really loved it when cakes had TONS of frosting, but now I appreciate a tasteful amount of frosting

what kind of frosting? Lemon glaze i can take a great deal of but buttercream has to be use sparingly.

no i'm bad about veggies..when I was a kid i would eat NO vegetables except corn and carrot sticks (not cooked carrots)....i thought potatoes were veggies! (grew up on a farm in MN though so that's par for the course....now I can eat:

Broccoli
Asparagus
Spinach (in salad form only, not cooked)
Tomatoes (in a pasta dish, not on sandwiches, and I know its not really a veggie anyway)
Green beans (FRESH ONLY, none of that canned crap, preferably with lemon juice)
Artichoke hearts (veggie? not sure)
Pea pods (in stir fry)
Mushrooms (i'm stretching here, but it's not meat, so I count it!)

....I take vitamins though....my wife is good about getting me to try things.

Are TV cartoons able to hold your interest for more than a few seconds?

Boring Satanic Space Jazz (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 21:08 (twenty years ago)

I like lettuce too....and field greens when we go to a nice place for dinner!

Lemon glaze rules....this is "work birthday" cakes, so it's from the grocery store....it's that duncan hines out of a can type stuff...(unless we get it from Lunds then it's fancier like the awesome cupcakes we had for someone's b-day)....it's nice though, they actually take the time to get it decorated with yr name, it's not just generic....CAKE DAYS rule! Just like "bagel and cream cheese days", when the out of town ad sales guys come to visit.

Honestly, no....I don't really like cartoons, even the "cool adult" cartoons that everyone seems to like so much like Space Ghost and Aqua Teen Hunger Force....I can deal with South Park in small doses.....the saturday AM stuff seems horrible nowadays, but it's probably just cuz I'm old, I'm sure all the Superfriends stuff I used to dig would seem like crap now....Kim Possible is kinda good....All the Japanese stuff like Kirby and Pokemon is just beyond me....it's so manic and nonesensical, but not in a good way....

I do like Looney Tunes, but that's probably the boring rockist canon cartoon, right?

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 21:14 (twenty years ago)

Nah, Looney Toons is the pop fluff to Disney's trad rock.

Does the thought of kissing make you feel embarrased?

Boring Satanic Space Jazz (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 21:30 (twenty years ago)

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 27 July 2005 21:36 (twenty years ago)

When I was little I HATED cake frosting and specifically requested (if possible) that any cakes for me were sans frosting.

I still feel the same way about frosting now.

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Thursday, 28 July 2005 02:56 (twenty years ago)

Yeah. Cake is, well, cake whereas frosting is just frosting.

RickyT (RickyT), Thursday, 28 July 2005 07:56 (twenty years ago)

I used to pick the frosting off cakes and leave it to one side. (...'used to' - I still do, if no-one is looking.) I don't really know how to make frosting/icing/buttercream because I can never be bothered with it.

spontine (cis), Thursday, 28 July 2005 08:11 (twenty years ago)

I don't mind too much icing. I mean, you can always lick it off. Numnum.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 28 July 2005 08:36 (twenty years ago)

But given a finite cake-space more icing = less cake!
