Getting back to Linklater, I can't believe I forgot

Also, I believe it is established that Beavis and Butthead hail from a tiny bedroom suburb of Dallas, which means.

70. To Die For

Nice one. And if it ain't there, "Gerry" I think goes in the California movie thread.

rogermexico (rogermexico), Thursday, 28 July 2005 05:03 (twenty years ago)

Either way, I vote, yes to Tender Mercies.

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Thursday, 28 July 2005 05:04 (twenty years ago)

I was actually pretty happy with Three Funerals. It was like a McCarthy short story stretched a bit too far. Not a great film per se, but I enjoyed watching it.

My recollection (it has been a while) is that it seemed like Peckinpah with all the meaning and logic drained out. Nearly every character acts to advance the plot, not in any way that they'd be motivated to. Sure is pretty, though!
