Wow!

STUNNED.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:12 (twenty years ago)

It says he wants to study video game design at college. I really wanna know what a game designed by a blind dude would be like.

matlewis (matlewis), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:12 (twenty years ago)

HADOOKIN

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:13 (twenty years ago)

YOGA FLAME

nickalicious (nickalicious), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:13 (twenty years ago)

(whoops I mean he isn't deaf and dumb - can someone fix that...?)

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:13 (twenty years ago)

I really wanna know what a game designed by a blind dude would be like.

Blank screen; awesome sound FX and cues.

It's just Jimmy Mod. Don't trip out and get labia reduction surgery or anyt (Mod, Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

If that dude ever does something like finish Flight School in "San Andreas", I'm selling my playstation.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:15 (twenty years ago)

"Freebird" isn't much help as an audio cue.

Anti-Pope Consortium (noodle vague), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:18 (twenty years ago)

One by one, while playing "Soul Caliber 2," their video characters were decapitated, eviscerated and gutted without mercy by Mellen's on-screen alter ego.

I CALL SHENANIGANS.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:26 (twenty years ago)

I wonder how fast he could play "Super Mario 3".

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:27 (twenty years ago)

Any game that dude designs will be in Smell-O-Rama.

andy --, Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:28 (twenty years ago)

Okay, the interviewer identified the game correclty in the first sentence, then goes on to confuse it with Soul Calibur II for the rest of the story? SHENANIGANS.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

Not to burst this kid's bubble or anything, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the article talks about how kick ass he is at fighting games like Mortal Kombat or Soul Calibur II... those are the exact games that require the least amount of actual interaction. I've been beat by my little sister before who does nothing but mash the buttons. She looks at the screen, but her button mashing really doesn't correspond to anything that's happening on there.

Mickey (modestmickey), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

Button-mashing will only get you so far, tho. A really good player will beat a button-masher 9 times out of 10, no sweat.

Anti-Pope Consortium (noodle vague), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:48 (twenty years ago)

No.

43534436436, Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:55 (twenty years ago)

How could this be fun for him? I wonder if he gets into new games or if a new fighting game just seems like the same thing with slightly different sounds?

walter kranz (walterkranz), Thursday, 28 July 2005 18:57 (twenty years ago)

I've been beat by my little sister before who does nothing but mash the buttons.

You must really suck at fighting games.

walter kranz (walterkranz), Thursday, 28 July 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

It's amazing what teens will do when they can't look at porn.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 28 July 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

Button-mashing on any Tekken game will only get you to like stage 3, but never past

kingfish (Kingfish), Thursday, 28 July 2005 20:45 (twenty years ago)

One thing I learned while hanging out with friends who had Super Nintendos: If you wish to win over them in Street Fighter 2: close your eyes and mash the buttons at random. It was the only way!

Øystein (Øystein), Thursday, 28 July 2005 21:01 (twenty years ago)

Your friends were clearly not gaming-nerds.

How could this be fun for him?

C'mere, lemme gouge your eyes out...

giboyeux (skowly), Thursday, 28 July 2005 21:08 (twenty years ago)

True, I was actually the real gaming nerd, I just didn't have a Nintendo. I was into The Secret of Monkey Island!
