Smoking out of a 20 oz bottle

Is making a pipe/bong out of a 20 oz soda bottle a bad idea? I've done it before but all of a sudden I'm reading people are saying there are (additional) health effects in doing this?

I guess maybe if you are burning the plastic, then yeah, inhaling plastic fumes is bad. You should be able to make it so that you won't be burning the bottle itself, though. But if the bottle isn't burning, I don't know what the additional effects would be.

do you mean, like, (C)reating a bong out of a glass bottle or using a plastic bottle in a pinch? I personally wouldn't smoke plastic(and that's saying something - I've smoked bamboo!) - there's no cans lying around? I fear for the future

Haha, I give up. I'm used to using a bowl, but mine broke and I can't buy another one right away. Can someone just give me the EASIEST way to make a homemade pipe (any kind)?

roll 6 inches aluminum foil around a thick marker. kink it so there's a bowl. i would not recommend using this any more than you have to.

put a big dent in a pop can and poke holes in it. smoke out of the part you drink from. though, if you can't figure this kind of stuff out on your own you probably can't afford to get high anymore, braincell-wise

make a steamroller from the 20 oz plastic bottle, no worries. cut a bowl sized hole in the side of it, make a dipped pocket of aluminum foil within the hole and tape the edges of the aluminum foil down. punch a rush hole in the bottom of the bottle and small holes, pin sized holes, in the aluminum foil sack. pack the aluminum foil, light it and inhale through the mouthpiece with your finger on the rush; it's also a good idea after lighting to cup your hand over the roasting bowl. fill the bottle with smoke and let the rush go. inhale and be high

Have you checked all the faucets in the apartment etc. where you're living? I usually end up removing the screens from these within a few months of moving in.

The thing with honeybear and classy 20-oz bongoid items is that they require you to have a decent slide to begin with, at which point one kinda wonders why you suddenly need to get all MacGyvery about the other elements.

One funny thing about Chicago: most apartments have decks, meaning most apartments have back doors, meaning most apartments have screen doors. Easiest way to spot easy stoners = square sections of screen neatly clipped out around the edges.

I have used aluminum foil bowls. The advantage, if you're roving, is that you can crumple it up and throw it away when being chased by, e.g., campus police.

Aluminum can (using the dent-and-pierce method) is far superior to anything you can do with a plastic bottle.

a 2-liter soda bottle is useful for two things. 1. When you have a very very small amount of yr substance and need to conserve, you can poke a vent hole into the bottom, exhale into the top of the bottle, and thus capture excess smoke. Then you can re-inhale it and possibly stretch the effect of yr substance. 2. The same implement can be used to minimize the spread of the smell--useful for avoiding the attention of parents, neighbors, and civil authorities.

For this second purpose, a paper-towel tube with fabric-softener sheets stuffed into one end can also serve.

Do not smoke out of aluminum cans. Just don't.

I would suggest you carve a bowl with a potato or an apple. Every bit as convenient and discardable as an aluminum can, only you're not smoking, you know, metal fumes or whatthefuckever. Apples are great because you can EAT the evidence!

Don't use window screen either. It's galvanized, and the fumes are very poisonous. That's why you make hardware-store bowls out of brass electrical fixtures and black gas pipe instead of water pipe.
