2) fresh summery vegetables (i'm getting MAD cravings for 'em lately)
3) ilm circa 2001 (a year before i showed up and ruined everything)
4) the jersey episode of anthony bourdain's no reservations (but points off for too many sopranos references)
5) the vaselines
6) oscar brown, jr., "but i was cool"
7) aleve (for its ability to knock me out cold in addition to its anti-inflammatory properties)
8) businesses that are well- air-conditioned to the point where you imagine their monthly electric bill must be stratospheric
9) hearing counting crows' "round here" on the radio and remembering that adam duritz' dopey trusta goatee was not the sum total of his band's creative contributions and that they did have a couple of pretty okay tunes, "round here" being their best
10) "round here we stay up very very VERY VERY LATE!" (and we do!)

Hmmm.

1. Visiting Carmel again next weekend. ALWAYS good for the soul.
2. Some big-ass BBQ party at a friend's place this Saturday. Should be ridiculously great.
3. Applying for a new job, mostly out of curiosity but it was a good excuse to update the resume.
4. Realizing I've got some pretty good writing prospects going.
5. Relaxing at home after vacation -- it was just nice to not live out of a suitcase.
6. All the Associates reissues and comps I snagged, with The Affectionate Punch en route.
7. Howl's Moving Castle, which works better in the memory than I thought it might
8. Having fun with the digital camera -- it is very nice and I'm glad I finally got one
9. As per usual, private stuff
10. Oh god I love SoCal summers. Love them to death.
