She lost her job at the council this afternoon so she probably won't be posting for a little while. :-(

Here's to her getting a new (and better) job very soon. What a bummer to be sacked just before your summer holiday abroad :-(

she hasn't told me yet - just got a text. I think it may well be computer related. Normally it's a fairly relaxed office but apparently the beeg boss came in and was standing right over her while she was looking up train routes in France for our holiday on the net, so that might have something to do with it.

All the same, these temp jobs can keep you as long as they want and they don't have to give you notice when they get rid of you, it's just "yeh, have a nice weekend, don't bother coming in on monday, cheers". I had a similar experience temping in an office for five whole months until i got a call on a friday evening from the agency.

No, I mean that if the fact she was seen using the internet to look up train times for a holiday in France was the reason she lost her job, then it seems a bit unfair because I'm sure lots of other people at the council - the boss included - do similar.

Yes BUT this is the girl who decided to sabotage her boss's stuff because she wasn't given the credit for something. Perhaps they were just looking for an excuse to fire her?

Wow, that sucks. :-( Thank god my boss is located in Japan so can never really check if I'm wasting time on ILX. ;-) That said, I still feel guilty if I do.

Anyway, this sucks. Will this make it more difficult to find a new job? Hope not. :-(
