Perhaps if I ever had sex, I might have a different answer. The best thing of all is falling asleep while thinking of sex. That's particuarly nice. Because sometimes you end up dreaming of sex.

I use the same logic to determine my answer to this question as I do for the sleep vs. food question:

You can be tired while eating, but you can't be hungry while sleeping.

You can be sleepy while having sex, but if you're horny while sleeping you just have a nice sexy dream.

Therefore: sleep.

What about sex while you're half asleep? It's kinda weird to wake up to, "Hold on, what are we doing?", especially if it's someone you're not supposed have sex with.

OK, I mean, there's that sleeping morning sex which can sometimes be nice if it's low key and sloppy. And then there's that wake up in the middle of the night and HAVE to have sex NOW sex, which is also kind of nice.

But sex with someone you're not supposed to be having sex with because you/they are asleep is a bit dodgy!

Hasn't this ever happened to you? You're sleeping next to someone you're not supposed to make up with, but you're both half asleep and suddenly you find yourself doing it... Okay, it doesn't usually get as far as penetration before you're fully awake, but it can get rather steamy. I think being half asleep can lower your inhibitions, just like being drunk does.

I generally don't sleep in beds next to members of the opposite sex I'm attracted enough to have sex with unless it would actually be OK doing a sex with them. I kind of try to avoid this situation, as that way badness lies.

Yeah, but you can usually put it behind you exactly because you were both half asleep. I don't think I've ever done this with someone it would've been totally wrong with it, I assume the warning mechanisms in your brain will kick in even if you're half-conscious. There's a story I've told a couple of times here, so I won't repeat it, about my best friend grabbing my dick because she was falling asleep and thought I was her boyfriend.

Sigh. We killed the thread.

I was trying not to have the horn and all. Because this week I've actually started thinking all "sod having a relationship, marriage, babies, all that crap. I just need to get *laid*!" You know, just be naked and holding someone.

But I honestly can't really be *bothered* to pull anyone. And when I get anywhere close, I just start thinking what a bother it all is, and how it probably will all go horribly wrong and shred my ego even worse than my last two boyfriends managed between them. generally, both are recommended. but sometimes, just for a particular night, it's getting late and you have to choose, at least locally. when the hour reaches a point where you know you'll pay in tiredness the next day, do you go ahead and have the sex anyway? at least this is the scenario i envision when i took sides.
