Y'know as much as I consider this ridiculous, you could look at this from another side. Look at the Japanese (and Chinese) picking names that have clear meanings. I mean,for gods sake, Ichiko means first child, so why not pick Poet? I know it's not customary to give our kids names with a distinct meaning, but still...

NOt that I would ever name my baby Pear or Writer. ;-)
