i usually have such brand loyalty, and love allmusic... but i definitely choose imdb over allmovie every single time.

Dud, if only for giving The Untouchables 5 stars to The Fury's 2. And for mainly topping out at 2.5 stars on Jerry Lewis-directed movies, excepting The Nutty Professor natch.

Though they give Welles pretty high marks, it is hilarious that The Muppet Movie gets a waaay higher score than F for Fake... and I like The Muppet Movie.

As great as imdb is, it could really use editorial reviews like allmusic to place the film in context. I've never even looked at allmovie!

I use allmovie all the time. It's just a lot more effective than imdb when it comes to giving me the sort of info I look for in that type of site (historical background, how a certain movie fits in with the current canon, etc.) I guess imdb has more variety of opinions, but if that's what I'm after I'll usually just search the ILX archives.

I'm in complete agreement with you, Daniel.
