yesterday we went to the isle of skye for an event of magic and beauty ...

... the NVA unfolding landscape midnight walk, to be precise.

and jolly wonderful it was too ... for the first 30 minutes. then the guides told us we couldn't walk any further/higher because there was an enormous gale blowing and the technicians couldn't get the light show to work (or even stand upright in the gusts). bugger.

still, the vibrating trees, silhouetted ghosts and unamplified folk singer keening her song into the howl of the wind were something i won't forget in a hurry.

we might be able to go back for the final weekend in september, but i'm not sure it's feasible. and anyway, the weather will be even worse by then. plus it'd mean another 450-mile round trip, which - much as i love driving - i can do without.

so has anyone else done this/considered it/even heard of it/been involved with any of NVA's previous escapades? (NVA, for those who care, being the creative brainchild of angus farquhar, who used to be in test dept.)

Hm, I like the sound of it! Then again I also love me the Isle of Skye, a grand place.
