Calling all everyone, head down to Madame JoJos tomorrow (Weds) night for a night of intl. pop and a live set from PayTV. I'll be getting into London about 9ish and meeting up with j0e and Alex In Doncaster somewhere then heading over to JoJos. Not sure where we're meeting yet - j0e, if you're around, where's the best nearby bar/pub?
It's organised by my bud Stewart who did TVOD up in Manchester (they put on the first UK gig by the Scissor Sisters dontchaknow), and he's great and has a big quam-on for Jentina and tATu and the like so it'll be a top night, guaranteed. Here's the rest of the blurb about it:

"For such a cosmopolitan city, the pop clubs of London are surprisingly conservative. Contact at Madame JoJo's is set to change this, proving that when it comes to smart, stylish, heart-pounding, ass-shaking pop, there's more to life than New York, London, Paris and Munich. Mao may have said that revolution is not a dinner party but he didn't explicitly rule out the possibility of it being a pan-sexual disco explosion.
Whether it's the new wave of glittering Scandinavian synth-pop or the remarkable, cutting-edge sound of Japan's idols, we'll be destroying the image foreign music has of being inaccessible by spinning the freshest and most dynamic chart tunes the globe has to offer.
Where t.A.T.u led, we will follow. Decadent Moscow disco, the vibrant sound of young China, pulsating Korean gayo, the propulsive rhythms of Arabic radio.......there's a whole world waiting to be discovered.
Mixed in will be the cream of Anglo-American pop and the finest electro, courtesy of international playboys Shari Vari, Renfro and Storm as well as Stewart Turner, founder of Manchester's legendary TVOD club, whose trademark brand of synthetic sleaze could have been made for the Soho setting.
Special guests on the opening night will be Sweden's glorious electro-trash Valkyries Pay TV. Citing Margaret Thatcher and Paris Hilton as primary influences, listing their blood type as "awesome" and the equipment they use as "high heels and a microphone", the glamour girls stole the show at the Swedish heats for this year's Eurovision Song Contest with the anthemic Trendy Discotheque. Sadly, the public wasn't quite ready for them but Eurovision's loss is our gain - expect a hurricane of lip-gloss and attitude.
The fun begins on Wednesday the 31st of August.
Entry is £6 or £5 with a flyer. "

at the trendy. discotheque. we're dancing at the trendy discotheque.
i did see this advertised and thought "ooh that looks alright", good to see that even graun staff members can't guarantee anything more than a simple listing in their own guide listings...
as i am HOME ALONE this week, i could be possibly tempted, 10pm start though...
