It Wasn't the Lord, It Was the Crank

If there was an old thread on Ashley Smith, I couldn't find it. (or a new one either)

Anyway, if there was an old one, it would need to be updated.

All part of God's plan, says Rick Warren.

In her book, "Unlikely Angel," released Tuesday, Smith says Nichols had her bound on her bed with masking tape and an extension cord. She says he asked for marijuana, but she did not have any, and she dug into her illegal stash of crystal meth instead.

a) who on earth has meth handy but not a scrap of doobage?
b) who on earth asks for pot but settles for crystal?

also:

She writes that she asked Nichols if he wanted to see the danger of drugs and lifted up her tank top several inches to reveal a five-inch scar down the center of her torso -- the aftermath of a car wreck caused by drug-induced psychosis. She says she let go of the steering wheel when she heard a voice saying, "Let go and let God."

????wtf????

A more important question might be what sort of person, having been kidnapped and bound by a probable murderer, is all like "Hey, why don't you do some meth? Then I'm sure you'll calm down and we can talk about this rationally."

Yeah, I don't know from meth, but my impression was that it was not the first thing you'd give a crazy dude with a gun. Otoh, he surrendered. So maybe score one for the meth enthusiasts?

she asked Nichols if he wanted to see the danger of drugs and lifted up her tank top several inches to reveal a five-inch scar down the center of her torso --

I'm sure that made a deep impression on a dude who had just killed a bunch of people

also a DUDE WHO WAS HIGH ON HER DRUGS WTF???

She was telling him not to drive? The whole encounter seems much more interesting now than it did when the story was just, "She read him about God and showed him pictures of her daughter." It would make a great one-act.
