Getting grease stains out of a cotton t-shirt.

I have a brown-y colour Stussy t-shirt which is my favourite t-shirt, a real thing of beauty and I'll probably never see another one. It has some small grease spots on it, I'm not sure how they got there. We've washed it normally a couple of times and also tried soaking it in clean, VERY hot water, but it hasn't worked.

Any ILE household tricks? I love this shirt.

Wet the shirt, locate the grease spots and with clean hands mix some liquid detergent with some bicarbonate of soda. Apply this paste to the spots and work the soap into the cloth. Let it sit for about an hour, then wash as normal. You really don't need to use hot water either - a normal wash should get it out.

That's quite a handy tip, I'm going to take a note of that.

I think I maybe seen a variation of this tip using talcum powder instead of bicarb? (DO NOT take my word for this)

If I am very spotty I will sometimes mix bicarb with my chosen face wash because it has both soothing and grease-cutting properties as well as the whole temporary abrasion thing. It's not such a great leap to grease spot removal.

Suzy that sounds great, I shall try it over the weekend. Thank you.

Try ZOUT. It gets grease spots out for me. Shout doesn't.

Bicarb works on grease because it's mildly alkaline, and so starts to turn the grease/fat into soap. Talc won't do that - I think it would just stick to the grease spot.
